1 O'Connell Street
Clear Control was engaged to reinvigorate the iconic blue spire lighting at 1 O'Connell Street, a prominent feature in Sydney's CBD. The traditional blue glass neon was replaced with energy-efficient, pixel RGBW LED Neon, offering a significant evolution in both technology and aesthetics for this landmark building. The upgrade retains the original vibrant blue glow while allowing a wider range of dynamic effects and animations that bring the spire to life, especially during major events and celebrations.
This LED upgrade consumes 50% less power, enhancing the reliability, safety, and visual impact of the spire. The project integrates Clear Control’s custom-designed plug-and-play solution, which reduces installation time and complexity and ensures easy maintenance in the future. This modernisation transforms the spire into an adaptable part of Sydney's skyline, offering new opportunities for dynamic displays that engage residents and visitors alike.
The LEDCTRL system allows for precise programming, ensuring that the lighting remains aligned with the City of Sydney’s vision for a vibrant and interactive cityscape. The new lighting design supports the building’s role as an enduring symbol in Sydney’s architectural history while promoting sustainability through reduced energy consumption and a modernised, more robust lighting system.
